A Refreshing Virgin Mojito I Make After a Long Workday
I work full-time in Japan, and I always look for simple drinks that help me slow down after a busy day. Since I don’t really drink alcohol, mocktails have become one of my favorite little rituals. This Virgin Mojito with Yuzu Juice is refreshing, bright, and incredibly easy to make with just a handful of ingredients.

Instead of using lime, I use Japanese yuzu juice for a unique citrus flavor that’s aromatic, slightly floral, and more complex than lemon or lime. If you’ve been searching for a refreshing virgin mojito recipe with a Japanese twist, this one is perfect for summer.
Why You’ll Love This Virgin Mojito Drink
If you’ve ever wondered what is virgin mojito, it’s simply a mojito made without alcohol. By replacing the traditional lime with premium yuzu juice, you get a refreshing mocktail mojito with a distinctly Japanese flavor. One of my favorite things about this virgin mojito drink is how fresh it tastes without feeling overly complicated. Fresh mint and sparkling soda water let the yuzu juice take center stage, while a little sweetener balances the citrus beautifully.

Although some people use yuzu syrup to make a similar drink, I prefer using pure yuzu juice because it gives the mocktail a cleaner, brighter flavor and lets the natural character of the fruit shine through.

This recipe is perfect whether you’re looking for virgin mojito ingredients for a summer gathering or simply want an easy drink to enjoy on your own after work.
Why I Chose Premium Yuzu Juice
For this recipe, I used Matcharl Pantry‘s Premium Yuzu Juice. It’s made from 100% yuzu fruit grown in Kochi Prefecture, Japan, which is the country’s most famous yuzu-producing region.

What I especially like is that it’s not from concentrate and contains no added sugar, preservatives, or artificial ingredients. The fresh, vibrant citrus aroma really shines through, making it ideal for everything from a yuzu mocktail recipe like this to salad dressings, ponzu, desserts, and marinades.
